Who Won Survivor Caramoan 2013?

And the winner of Survivor is ...

Oakton's own John Cochran was crowned winner of Survivor Caramoan 2013 Sunday night, taking home not only the title but a hefty $1 million prize.

How'd he do it?

As CBS News reports, "All season he built on the image of Cochran the geek, the beta male who could never compete with the young bucks. Except that he started winning physical challenges, mental contests, strategic tests and, on Sunday, $1 million."

Entertainment Weekly recaps that Cochran went the entire season without having a single vote cast against him. EW called the win a remarkable turnaround "for a guy who was berated for being disloyal and mocked for his inability in challenges the last time he played in Survivor: South Pacific."

Cochran won four individual challenges this season, although two of them were with advantages.

And what will he do with that $1 million?

He told the Hollywood Reporter, "It's going to be a lot of boring stuff; it's going to be invested, probably a down payment on an apartment, and I'm thinking of a little impulse purchase. Nothing extravagant that I'm going to spend my money on. When I get a new apartment, I'll probably … soup it up? Soup it out? I don't even know the lingo."

Oakton Patch followed Cochran throughout his time on "Survivor:South Pacific" .

Though he was voted off, he ran a campaign to vote Cochran as Fan Favorite.
