Unity of Fairfax Presents Easter Musical 'Greater Things Than These'

Unity of Fairfax Church will present Greater Things Than These, a musical by Ed Townley and Melinda Wood Allen at two performances this week. 

The music and drama ministries will perform the musical at 7 p.m. on Good Friday and at 10 a.m. on Easter Sunday. 

Greater Things Than These follows a troue of wandering actors and minstrels as they explore the power of healing through the tales of five individuals who are depressed by their habitual negative thinking. 

The troupe listens to and sees Biblical tales from Jesus' ministry and realizes the parallels to their modern day lives, learning how to take responsibility for positive change in their lives. 

"Somewhat like 'Godspell,' the show portrays humor and grace in equal measure, and the songs are snappy and memorable," said the show's Director Carole Tomhave, who is music director at Unity of Fairfax. 

Both performances of Greater Things Than These are open to the public and admission is free. Voluntary offerings will be collected at each service. Performances will be held at the Unity of Fairfax Sanctuary, located at 2854 Hunter Mill Rd., in Oakton.
