Hurricane Sandy: Most Oakton Residents Still with Power

Small clusters around Oakton without power

Though thousands of fellow Fairfax County residents are without power as Hurricane Sandy rolls through the area, much of Oakton is still powered up as of 12:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Clusters of Oakton neighbors have reported outages, the largest group along Fox Mill Road between Vale and Waples Mill roads with 57 Dominion Virginia Power customers affected, according to an interactive outage map from the company. Other groups of outages are affecting between one and 15 around town.

In Fairfax County, Dominion is reporting 86,080 outages as of 12:20 a.m.

Oakton's roads have also largely been spared, with only two closures in the immediate area:
