Why Go: Rocknoceros is a family-friendly rock band that will get even the youngest kids and oldest adults tapping their feet! They perform a lively mix of clean, fun songs from a variety of rock genres. Jammin’ Java even offers a family happy hour special: buy a beer and get a juice box for free!

Why Go: Help your kids get excited about reading by letting them pick out some new books. The Fairfax City Regional Library is hosting a book sale, so you can get your kids lots of great books at a steep discount. Be sure to go early for the best selection!

Where/When: The Soundry, 316 Dominion Rd. NE, Vienna, from noon-6 p.m. Sunday

Why Go: Do your kids or teens have an interest in music? Let them unleash their inner rock star at The Soundry. Pat Sommers is offering rock vocal and guitar performance lessons. Each session runs for 3 hours.

Where/When: Reston Community Center, 2310 Colts Neck Rd., Reston on Sunday, March 13 at 2:30pm

Why Go: The Reston Community Players are putting on their version of the hit Broadway musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” The show is very interactive, and four audience members even get to play cameo roles (get there early to sign up for these parts!). The show is recommended for kids 10 and up.

Pricing: $21/adult; $18/students and seniors

Where/When: Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, 2709 Hunter Mill Rd., Oakton on Tuesday, March 15 from 10:00-11:30am

Why Go: Parents and kids can join together in spirituality at this meeting of PlaygroUUp. Kids can play with one another while parents get to bond over religious discussion. Parents need breaks, too!
