Why Go: Bring your whole family to Lake Fairfax to truly celebrate the Fourth of July! There will be so much excitement that little ones will be dazzled all day long. The park grounds open at 7 a.m. The Water Mine will be open, plus pony rides, a carousel and the marina. The day will be capped off will a fireworks show beginning at 9:15pm. Don’t miss it!

Why Go: Oakton Library is hosting a storytime specially designed for toddlers aged 13-23 months. Bring your little guys and gals to the library for short stories. In addition to the intellectual stimulation, this is a great way to bond with your child.

Why Go: If your kids and teens have been hanging out on the couch since school ended, take them to this event on the earth history of our area. They’ll learn about the oceans, volcanoes and even dinosaurs that populated this region long before we arrived. Kids will love seeing the fossils and gold—and they might even learn something during their summer vacation!
