Where/When: George Mason University campus, 440 University Dr., Fairfax at 3 p.m. Friday

Why Go: Are your children baseball fans who have been missing their beloved sport in the off-season? Well, grab your gloves and head down to GMU to watch the Patriots battle conference rival James Madison University on the diamond. If the weather stays cool and sunny, it will be a beautiful weekend for a baseball game!

Where/When: South Lakes High School, 114000 South Lakes Dr., Reston from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Why Go: If your kids are martial arts fans, you won’t want to miss this weekend’s Tae Kwon Do championship at South Lakes High School. The event is one of the largest Tae Kwon Do competitions on the East Coast and is expected to attract more than 2,000 spectators. Whether your kids are die-hard martial arts fans or you’d like to expose them to something new, this championship is sure to be a hit.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1090 Sterling Rd., Herndon from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: This weekend’s bluegrass concert series features the band Blue Moon Cowgirls. The group specializes in classic country music circa the 1940s and 1950s. Country music fans will love Blue Moon Cowgirls’ tight harmonies and pleasing country beats. Time to dust off the ol’ cowboy hat, round up the kids, and enjoy a night of country tunes.

Pricing: $12 for adults; kids under 12 are free

Where/When: 4800 Mattie Moore Ct., Fairfax from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday

Why Go: The Gesher Jewish Day School is hosting its annual Family Fun Day. The event will be chock full of activities for kids, including a petting zoo, pony rides and crafts (many of the activities have Jewish themes). If you’re Jewish, looking to learn more about the faith, or are just interested in a unique day of fun, the Gesher JDS Family Fun Day fits the bill!

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Walker Nature Education Center, 11450 Glade Dr., Reston from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday

Why Go: Kids and adults alike love Dr. Seuss’ tale of the Lorax. April is Earth Month, so the Reston Association will be showing this classic nature tale to get kids interested in protecting the environment. The event is best suited for kids aged 5-12, and they must be accompanied by an adult.

Pricing: $5 for Reston Association members; $8 for non-members
