Feb. 10-16:

Skating with cartoons, entertaining puppet shows, and a much needed night out for parents — pick and choose from this week’s array of events.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

• Fun with Kaydee Puppets

Where/When: Fairfax City Library on Sat., Feb. 12 at 2:30–3:30 p.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Kids can’t resist puppets! Head to the Oakton Library for a nursery rhyme-themed puppet show that even the youngest children will enjoy.

Pricing: Free!

 

Where/When: Reston Town Center, 11900 Market St., Reston on Sat., Feb. 12, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy the last few weeks of winter by taking your kids skating with their favorite cartoon characters. Scooby-Doo, Tweety Bird and many more cartoon favorites will be taking the ice. Join the fun!

Pricing: $7.00 for kids under 12, $9.00 for adults

Where/When: Jammin’ Java, 227 Maple Ave. E., Vienna on Sat., Feb. 12. There will be three shows in total: 10:30 a.m.-noon, 12:30-2 p.m., and 2:30-4 p.m.

Why Go: Steve Roslonek stars as Mr. Steve on PBS Kids, making him a huge celebrity to the under-8 crowd! He puts on an energetic—and funny!—show that kids and parents will love.

Pricing: $15 per person (kids under 1 are free) Buy your tickets now! The 10:30 show is already sold out!

Where/When: South Lakes High School, 11400 S. Lakes Dr., Reston, 6-10:00pm

Why Go: Treat yourselves to a night out! SLHS Theatre students will provide plenty of entertainment for your children with performances and crafts. Parent chaperones will supervise the event, and dinner and snacks will be provided.

Pricing: $40 per child and $25 per sibling; Call 703-715-4589 to make reservations

Where/When: , 2900 Sutton Rd, Vienna, on Tues., Feb. 15 at 6 p.m.

Why Go: Take the whole family for an entertaining and cultural night out! Dinner is served at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
