- Expect sunny skies once again with a high of 74 degrees and a low of 51 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
- The Fall for the Book festival continues today with authors including Thomas Mallon, Dean King, Elizabeth Huergo, and Stephen Mansfield set to speak. Check out the full schedule of events.
- The Pohick Regional Library in Burke is hosting six week long college application essay writing workshop. The workshop begins on September 28 and is open to all high school students. Register online.
- The Fairfax County Park Authority Board meets at 7:30 p.m. today at the Herrity Building, suite 941 on 12055 Government Center Parkway in Fairfax. Public comment is welcome at the meeting.
- Mark your calendar: The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicle’s DMV 2 Go customer service van is scheduled to be at the Fairfax County Government Center on Monday. The van offers customers the chance to get most of their DMV services taken care of without the longer lines. The van will be parked at the center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 12000 Government Center Parkway.
