Today in Oakton: Fairfax Library Board Meets, Register for Bike Summit

  2. Today is the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people. Americans are asked to participate in a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. today to remember the victims.
  3. The Oakton Library hosts story time for toddlers today from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Oakton Library on 10304 Lynnhaven Place.
  4. The Board of the Fairfax County Public Library meets at 7 p.m. today at the George Mason Regional Library in Annandale to discuss proposed changes to the system, which could include staffing cuts. Here’s everything you need to know about the proposed changes
  5. Mark your calendars: Registration has begun for the 2013 Fairfax Bike Summit at George Mason University on Saturday, Nov. 2. You can register online. Topics include “Tyson’s: A Bicycle-Friendly Community” and the need to make Fairfax County bicycle friendly.
