Expect a high of 80 degrees today with partly sunny skies. Low temperatures will be at 61 degrees in the evening. 

Take a session on the ABCs of Starting a Business by the Women’s Business Center of Northern Virginia. The seminar is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Women’s Center on 127 Park Street, N.E. in Vienna.  

The group Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays of Fairfax (or PFLAG) meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax on 2709 Hunter Mill Road.  

21st Annual Fall for Fairfax KidsFest: It's an extravaganza, just for the wee ones - pumpkin painting, hay rides, scarecrow making, a petting zoo, pony rides, a trackless train ride, live acts, kids' crafts, model trains, costumed characters, bounce houses, a carnival and more. Plus, for parents, there's a farmers market, vendors, a county showcase and more. It all takes place at the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6. Admission is free, but rides and some features have a cost. Mark your calendars: Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology is hosting an open house from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Holmes Middle School, 6525 Montrose Street in Alexandria.
