The Virginia Department of Transportation will close a portion of Waples Mill Road this weekend to replace two metal pipes damaged during Tropical Storm Lee last September.

The repair will close Waples Mill Road between Route 50 and Oakton Road from 9 a.m. Friday until 9 p.m. Monday. A detour will be put in place to reroute traffic to Jermantown Road or West Ox Road in order for drivers to access Waples Mill Road in Oakton. A map of the detour is included with this article.

The traffic light at the intersection of Oakton Road and Waples Mill Road will be a flashing yellow light, and Fairfax County Police will be on site throughout the weekend.
