Romney to Host Rally Monday at GMU

GOP presidential nominee to campaign in toss-up state on eve of Election Day.

 

UPDATE (5:55 p.m. Sunday): The location for the political rally with former Gov. Mitt Romney, the Republican nominee for president, has changed from the outdoor venue at George Mason University to its Patriot Center.

The rally at the Patriot Center, which seats 10,000, is scheduled for the day before Election Day.

Tickets are required for the free event and are available online.

GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney (R) will hold a rally Monday on the eve of Election Day at George Mason University in Fairfax City.

Romney is statistically tied with President Barack Obama (D) in Virginia, according to RealClearPolitics.

Doors will open 12:45 p.m. Monday for the outdoor rally, taking place at the Recreation and Athletic Complex. The forecast for Monday is a high of 49 degrees and partly sunny.

Tickets are required for the free event and are available online. On-campus distribution for Mason faculty, staff and students has not yet been determined.

Those who attend the rally will go through airport-like security and should bring few personal items. No bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids, or signs will be allowed in the venue. Doors will close once the Recreation and Athletic Complex is filled.

Event parking will be available in Lot K, Rappahannock River Deck, and at the Field House(Lots M,O, and P). Limited disabled parking will be available in the Patriots Village (PV) lot located off Mason Pond Drive across from the Mason Inn. Please be alert for signs related to traffic and parking when coming to campus on Sunday evening through Monday evening. Expect very heavy traffic approaching and while on campus Monday.

I predict: Obama 278, Romney 260

Obama 49.1% Romney 49.9% Others 1.0%

That's right. I predict Obama will win the election and Romney will get more votes.
