A few recommendations for unique spots in town

Every week, Oakton Patch will run a weekly feature, highlighting editor and reader picks of great local businesses, destinations, services, organizations, ways to spend a day off, and more.

4. Vienna Music Exchange, 131 Church St NW, 703-938-0010
Why Go: For all the music fans out there who want to keep their collection up-to-date, find bargains in this shop, located inside a small home tucked away from the bustle of Maple Avenue. Records, CDs and videos line the walls of the shop -- spend an afternoon looking for gift ideas or the next piece in your collection.
Hours: Thurs to Sat, noon to 5 p.m.

5. Freeman Store, 131 Church St NE, 703-938-5187
Why Go: Plenty of people pass by the house on the W+OD trail, but not as many stop in to browse the Vienna-themed merchandise. Stop in to make a purchase for a neighbor who has moved elsewhere, or, a college student looking for something they can use to remember home.
Hours: Wed - Sun, noon to 4 p.m.

Toy Corner is such a great place to shop for toys. I end up buying almost all birthday gifts there. Not only do they have a great selection -- it's a fun place to shop and you cannot beat the service. (Including gorgeous gift wrapping.) This place is such a local gem.
