Corbin G. Shannon, 21, of Oakton has been charged with destruction of property, reckless driving, pedestrian on the interstate and interfering with passing vehicles on a highway.

As the driver of the van started to approach him to check on his condition, Shannon ran out into the westbound traffic and jumped on four vehicles traveling westbound, police said. The windshield of the first vehicle he leaped onto was damaged.

When police arrived, Shannon was found in the left shoulder of the highway and taken to Fairfax Inova Hospital. Illegal drugs and alcohol are not factors in the cause of the incident, officials said.
