Oakton High students — who were not only decked out in the typical maroon and gold but also in camouflage as a symbol of Homecoming's jungle theme — voted seniors Nicole Abdullah and Ian Hartin queen and king for 2011.

The 2011 graduate said he knows how much the scholarship means to the Oakton's football program, and he is honored to have been chosen to receive the scholarship.

"This is going to help me pay for college, and that's big for me," said Rivas, who attends West Virginia University. "I've been through a lot in my life and somebody saw that. It means a lot to me."
