The Oakton Cougars improved its record to 4-5 Friday with a mercy-rule win over Herndon.
Cougar goalie Brian Bumgardner had a solid game between the pipes, holding the Hornets to four goals — all from Herndon's Michael Horn — while his team piled on its 14 goals.
Freshman Trey Aiello led the Cougars with four goals and two assists, while seniors Trevor Herrinton and Max Harrison each had three.
