Best of Oakton Patch: Local Restaurant

Pick your favorite local restaurant

Patch is kicking off a series today that will ask you about your favorite things in Oakton over the course of the next 12 weeks.

First up: What's your favorite local restaurant? We've compiled a list of Oakton's local restaurants and set up a poll at the bottom of this article. Vote for your favorite and tell your friends to vote for theirs!

If you’re a big fan of a particular place, pump them up by submitting menus, photos or other multimedia.

Click "Nearby" in the upper right corner of the site to view this week’s "Best Of" in a neighboring Patch town.

Here is a list of Oakton's local restaurants:

Over the coming weeks we’ll highlight other "Best Of Oakton Patch" categories that highlight more local businesses and things to do. It’s an opportunity to learn more about our town while supporting local businesses. Besides, everyone loves a good debate about who offers the best this or where’s the best place for that.

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be chosen based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

Voting closes at 9 a.m. Friday.

The winner will be announced at noon Friday.

So tell us which local restaurant is your favorite. And write a comment below to tell us why.

Although technicall not in Oakton, I love Pomodoro Pizza restaurant in Fairfax Town Center. The sauce is not overly sweet, the prices are reasonable and the veal dishes are delish!

Was not inpressed with Promodoro Pizza. The veal was a bit tough, think it may have been frozen. Sauce was not to my likeing. They do not use plumb tomatoes for their pizza saice, so I came away with heat-burn.

A couple of these places are good but Luciano's is hands down the best! The homemade bread, the homemade sausage, fantastic pizza and the daily specials are all fantastic!

I've eaten at most of those restaurants but my favorite without a doubt is Kob Kun. The food is always fresh, perfectly prepared and spiced---a real gourmet meal whatever you pick.

Luciano's has the best made from scratch and unique Italian food in the nova area. The staff is experienced and friendly. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner or family event.

Luciano's is "the real deal" ... if you want a great family restaurant with all your favorite Italian dishes (and some other cuisine as well), this is the place. White pizza the best in DC region.

I gee up in Boston,MA. That is where the best Italian food came from. I have eaten at Luciano's many time. The quality of the Italian food is. *****. I especially like the crust of their pizza. It is always crisp and it ranks up ther with the best I ever had. Their rolls and bread I buy to have at home. Their delightful desserts especially the orange with orange sorbet in the skin is my favorite. I have always been treated like someone special by the staff. All in all you can't beat it.

Luciano is definitely the best restaurant. I'm a pizza-holic, spoiled by growing up in New Jersey, and am always looking for good pizza. Luciano's pizza is real pizza. They know how to use olive oil, and it was SO nice to see real Italian sausage on my pizza, not the breakfast link sausage that others use. Their entrees are really good and authentically Italian. The service is good, the restaurant is always very clean, and the staff really go out of their way to be kind and helpful.

I grew up in the New York area and Luciano's makes the best New York style pizza. They understand that a good pizza is all about the crust and fresh, quality toppings. They will even cook the crust to your specifications if you ask, and the staff are always cheerful and friendly. The fettucini alfredo is to die for.

All the accolades regarding Luciano’s Restaurant are right on. Luciano’s provides consistent quality of food, innovative new dishes, specials every day, friendly service, warm atmosphere, reasonable prices and consistency. No wonder Luciano’s has been in Northern VA for 39 years and in Oakton for 17 years. They have the recipe for success.

I just love Lucianos. Fantastic homemade breads and doughs are excellent. Fresh, creative entrees, and I love the desserts. They have the best canolli, rivaling B'more's little Italy. I get excellent service every single time. Bring on the wine!

Sorry I missed the Patch when the voting started. We do love the winner Luciano's but were sorry that Kob Kun wasn't included on the list of entries. We think they're a great addition to our Oakton dining options!!

I missed the voting. My personal winner is Tigris Grill. (Read my comment on Patch under Tigris Grill, for more info). When we moved to Oakton in 95, we hoped Luciano's would become the local Italian favorite we were looking for. Based on reviews, will give it yet another try. Will try Kob Kun based on reviews too!
